MMRDA confirms shifting of tenements along Mithi river
Mumbai, May 23 (UNI) The Mumabi Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has said that 330 tenements along Mithi river have been shifted.
MMRDA said many more will be shifted to other areas after the survey of these tenements.
The MMRDA will take care of the expansion of nullas and pipe lines and the demolished huts and shops will be given alternate ccomodation if they have the legal documents.
The cleaning of the Mithi river and other rivers in the city is being undertaken by the BMC on a war footing after the confirmation of the demolitions.
BMC Commissioner told media persons today that the demolition and the shifting process will start by the end of this month and will continue during the monsoons if needed.
