Lalu to lecture foreign diplomats on June 26
New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, whose rustic wisdom has translated into a profound business strategy amply reflected in turnaround of Indian Railways, continues to be in great demand as a 'management guru'.
On June 28, Mr Prasad is all set to share his nuggets of wisdom on the spectacular turnaround of Indian Railways with a group of young Indian Foreign Service officers and diplomats of foreign countries posted here.
''In the round one that began late last year, it was the turn of students from prestigious business schools like the Harvard, Sloan Management School and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to get a first hand knowledge of the success of Indian Railways, the biggest government department that was teetering on the brink of a collpase some five-six years ago,'' a top Railway Ministry official said today.
''The round two has begun with an interface between the Railway Minister and civil servants and members of diplomatic community,'' he said.
Recently, a delegation of civil and foreign service officials from the US had visited Rail Bhavan to learn about the incredible turnaround of Indian railways.
On June 26, Mr Prasad will deliver a lecture before the high-profile gathering at the Foreign Services Training Institute here, giving them an insight into the functioning of the Railways.
The Railway Minister is also scheduled to address a meeting at the World Bank, the details of which are being finalised.
