Khandu urges people become partners of devpt

Itanagar, May 23: Arunachal Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has called upon different sections of the society to help execute the hydropower projects in the state, official sources informed here today.

In a clarion call to the people to become partners of development to supplement government efforts at a meeting in West Kamen distict yesterday, Mr Khandu said the one to three MW projects would be implemented soon.

He also highlighted his government's achievements in reactivating the public distribution system (PDS) to facilitate the transport of essential commodities to the far-flung areas.

Mr Khandu also assured to check the rising law and order problem, rampant corruption and revive the PDS.

Earlier, while inaugurating a 45-meter span arch type steel bridge over river Sangti at Khaso, 12 km from Dirang, Mr Khandu said 100 per cent fund utilisation for proper scheme implementation had accelerated development in the district.

He attributed the active participation of the people adding that the bridge would expedite economic development.

Mr Khandu had urged other departments to follow Bomdila PWD division for completing Rs 102.70 lakh bridge, weighing 79.80 MT and 4.25 meters wide, within two years.

He further disclosed that the Apex bank in the state would be revived within three to four months and stressed on new industrial and tourism policies to tap vast potentials of the state.
