Karunanidhi to leave for Delhi on May 28
Chennai, May 23: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi will go to New Delhi on a two-day visit from May 28 to finalise among other things, his party's support to the Presidential candidate.
Official sources said the Chief Minister, accompanied by senior officials, was likely to leave for Delhi on May 28 to attend the National Development Council (NDC) meeting.
Apart from the NDC meeting, there was a host of other programmes for the Chief Minister in the Capital during the two days, the sources said.
During his stay, Mr Karunanidhi is likely to call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the inter-linking of peninsular rivers to resolve the vexed inter-state water disputes.
He is also likely to call on Congress President Sonia Gandhi to discuss and formulate DMK's support to the Presidential candidate and also finalise the candidate for the Vice-President post.
