Hooda ask police to keep vigil in Haryana
Chandigarh, May 23 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today directed the police force to be more vigilant so that anti-social elements might not try to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the state in the wake of the Dera Sacha Sauda controversy.
Mr Hooda, who reviewed the law and order situation in the state in a meeting with senior civil and police officials at Rohtak, appealed to the people to maintain calm and communal hormony and not get swayed by false rumours.
He also urged them to ''continue to cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace and tranquility,'' an official spokesman said.
It was observed in the meeting that the situation was under control in Haryana where the Sacha Sauda headquarters was situated in Sirsa.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Prem Prashant, Director General of Police R S Dalal and other senior officers of the state government.
The spokesman said although Mr Hooda was in bereavement due to the demise of his elder brother Joginder Singh on May 21, he convened the meeting keeping in view of the emergent situation.
