Fireman, woman among 3 injured in major fire in Yamuna Pushta

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) A fireman and a woman were among three people injured in a major fire in Yamuna Pushta area of East Delhi this afternoon.

Even as all the three have been admitted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narain Hospital, the condition of Kamlesh is said to be serious, according to sources.

While Kamlesh was admitted with 70 per cent burn injuries, another man Arvind sustained 40 per cent burns, said the Fire Brigade adding that the injured fireman Manas Chandra received 25 per cent burn injuries.

''Over a thousand odd hutments were reduced to ashes in the fire which was 'major','' the sources added.

The fire in Kishan Kunj area, near SDM office, took place around 1400 hrs and nearly 32 fire tenders battled for nearly two hours to bring the fire under control.

The 'operation' was over by 1610 hrs, it added.
