CM urges Opposition to participate in all party meeting
Midnapore, May 23 (UNI) On the eve of the all party meeting, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya today called for a consensus on ending the Nandigram fiasco.
Speaking at a meeting here, ahead of Panskura Municipal Election, Mr Bhattacharya said, '' We are ready to work out a truce with the Opposition and expect them to come forward for development of Nandigram.'' Citing the example of Kashmir, Mr Bhattacharya said if the stand off with the Opposition continues, it would be difficult to bring Nandigram back on the rails.
''To restore democracy in Nandigram, it is necessary that the Opposition participates in the all party meeting and express their view point,'' he said.
Inviting all parties, Mr Bhattacharya said political differences should not come in the way and urged them to come forward with ideas for development of the state.
