CBI court begins hearing of Patna museum antique theft case

Patna, May 23 (UNI) Hearing in the famous antiques theft case from Patna museum began before a special CBI court here today.

CBI today produced Parshuram Pandey, a technical assistant of Patna Museum as a Prosecution Witness (PW) in the case before special judicial magistrate Sarwjit. While deposing Mr Pandey stated that several idols of antique value were indeed stolen from the 'bronze galary' of the Museum and identified 17 of them in the court.

Altogether 18 antique idols were stolen from the Patna Museum in October last year. Investigating the case CBI later recovered 17 of them from Kolkata and Biharsharif.

Altogether four accused were facing trial in the case.
