ASI caught for stealing seized goods worth Rs 1.63 lakh
Akola, May 23 (UNI) A suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) in-charge of 'malkhana' (vault for storing seized items) was caught for the second time for allegedly stealing and selling seized gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.63 lakh from the vault of police station here.
Sahebrao Ingole was arrested last night after he admitted that he had defrauded valuables worth Rs 1.63 lakh and has been taken into custody after being charged for criminal breach of trust, police said here today.
Ingole, who was suspended from the service earlier last year after he was arrested for defrauding more than Rs 2 lakh, was summoned once again to the police station last night, as the vault key was with him. After the vault was opened, it was found empty, sources added.
