13 killed, over 50 injured in road mishaps in AP
Hyderabad, May 23 (UNI) Thirteen people were killed and more than 50 injured in three different accidents in Andhra Pradesh today.
According to the police, seven people were killed on the spot and nine injured when a van, carrying 16 people from Maharashtra, on its way to Tirupati, collided head-on with a rig-ladden lorry at Kohir crossroads near Zahirabad in Medak district in the wee hours.
The condition of two of the injured, admitted to the Zahirabad hospital, was stated to be serious, police said.
In another accident, three people were killed and 50 injured when a van and a lorry, carrying labourers, collided near Vankidi in Adilabad district.
In a third mishap, three people died when a tractor in which they were travelling overturned at Anantarajusetha in Kadapa district this morning.
