Mah Govt to appoint protection officers for women's safety

Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Women and Children Welfare Minister Harshwardhan Patil today said the government will appoint protection officers in all the districts for the protection of women from domestic violence.

Talking to reporters here Mr Patil said till further orders, all the district women and children welfare officers, tehasildars and other officers will be appointed as protection officers on temporary basis.

He said that this law was implemented in Andhra Pradesh first and now all efforts will be made to implement the same strictly in the state too.
