AP receives investment proposals of Rs 64,879 crore

Hyderabad, May 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh has received investment proposals to the tune of Rs 64,879 crore during the past three years and projects worth Rs 56,335 crore were under various stages of implementation, according to a report by state Industries Department.

The report said over 1.92 lakh people would get employment when all the projects were completed.

The industries, which had already started production included the Sponge Iron unit set up at a cost of Rs 260 crore at Relli Gouraram in Vijayanagaram district and the tiles and sanitary ware unit of Rock Ceramics India at Peddapuram in East Godavari district set up at the cost of Rs 200 crore.

Official sources said lot of applications were being received at the single window clearance of the industries department.

Every application envisaging an investment of over Rs one crore had to be submitted at the Commissionerate of Industries Department.

For industries with investment of less than Rs one crore, licence would be sanctioned at district level, the sources added.
