Trinidad

Lucknow, May 21 (UNI) To boost investment and meet the information needs of businessmen from Uttar Pradesh, desirous of investing in Trinidad&Tobago, the Ambassador of the Central American nation is holding two conferences in the state.

Trinidad&Tobago Ambassador Pundit Manledeo Persad along with his Embassy staff will address businessmen in Kanpur on May 26 and Lucknow on May 28 at the conclaves.

The two conferences are being jointly organised by the Indian Industries Association (IIA) and the High Commission of Republic of Trinidad&Tobago, New Delhi.

IIA Executive Director D S Verma told UNI here today that about 40 per cent of the Trinidad&Tobago population comprises people of Indian origin, who had migrated to that country since 1845.

May 30 is celebrated as Indian Arrival Day in Trinidad&Tobago every year.

''High Commission of Trinidad&Tobago, New Delhi has decided to celebrate Indian Arrival Day in Lucknow and Kanpur this year and IIA is a partner in these events,'' he added.
