Salem arrives in Capital today, will be produced in court tomorrow

New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) One of prime accused in the Mumbai blasts case, incarcerated underworld dom Abu Salem is being brought to Delhi today amid tight security by Mumbai Police officials.

Salem was being brought by Mumbai Police cops by train today, said Special Cell DCP Alok Kumar.

The don was reaching here by 1900 hrs accompanied by a Mumbai Police team, said another official.

Cops had left Mumbai along with Salem by train after his appeal to be sent by plane on health grounds was rejected by the court there.

Salem who is to be produced in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Maini tomorrow has three cases against him in Delhi -- one of criminal conspiracy to kill gangster Babloo Srivastava and two cases of extortion from two South-Delhi based businessmen.

Extradited from Portugal in November 2005 for his alleged role in the March 1993 Mumbai blasts that left 257 dead and another 713 injured, Salem is presently in judicial custody in Mumbai.
