Rehab package of Panem coal beneficial: Marandi

Dumka, May 21 (UNI) Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi today said the rehabilitation package assured by the Panem coal company located in Pakur district would be beneficial for the displaced people.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Marandi said following the Supreme Court verdict a contract had been signed by the people of Puchwara and Panem coal company for rehabilitation of the displaced adding villges effected due to the coal minning were on the priority list of the company.

About nine villages were being effected due to the mining work of the company.

Speaking about the rehabilitation policy of the state government, Mr Marandi said the government would soon declare the policy.
