Rabri Devi demands all party meeting to end crime in Bihar
Patna, May 21 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Rabri Devi today demanded immediate convening of an all-party meeting here to discuss the state's "deteriorating law and order situation." Condemning the recent spate of killings across the state, the former Chief Minister blamed the "callous administration coupled with insensitive police force" as the prime reason for steady deterioration of law and order situation.
Citing the murder of three people at Shalimpur near here yesterday by unidentifed assailants who fled after committing the crime, Ms Devi also drew the attention of Bihar Governor S.M.Gavai into the recent spate of violence and sought his intervention to bring an end to such criminal activities.
"It is very unfortunate that despite clear instructions from the chief minister (Nitish Kumar), no action is being taken to arrest the culprits and check the soaring crime rate,'' Ms Devi said.
She reiterated her demand for an all party meeting to discuss the issue threadbare and initiate stern measures to improve the situation.
She demanded enough compensation to the deceased's families and jobs to at least one of the members of such families.
She also condemned the murder of a senior official of Tata Motors yesterday and urged the government to take all preventive measures to end the menace.
