Minister announces Rs 5 lakh and house to family of stab victim

Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh, May 21 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Minister for Energy and Minority Welfare Mohd Ali Shabbir today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh and a house to Santosh, who was killed in the indiscriminate stabbing of unknown persons in Kamareddy town in Nizamabad district late last night.

Some unknown persons stabbed six persons in Kamareddy town and one of them, Santhosh died later.

The BJP which gave a bandh call to protest the stabbing, tried to stop the Minister's car as he was proceeding to console the family members of the victims.

Police restored to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. They also arrested some BJP leaders to defuse the situation.

Shabbir told mediapersons that he had asked the DGP to send additional forces to Nizamabad to maintain Law and Order. He also expressed confidence that the culprits would be apprehended soon.
