JPDA demonstrates near CM's house in favour of demands
Ranchi, May 21 (UNI) The Jharkhand Petrol Dealers Asociation (JPDA) today demonstrated in front of the Chief Minister's residence at the Kanke road here in favour of their five point demands.
JPDA general secretary Sharat Dudani said a procession containing association members was taken out from Ratu road and Katchery road which was stopped near the Adrey house chowk, close to the chief minister's house.
Mr Dudani said the members shouted slogans and sat on dharna in favour of their demands.
He said the government had not made payments to a number of petrol pump dealers from 1999 and demnaded to clear their dues in 15 days.
The demands of JPDA includes reduction of sales tax from 20 to 12 per cent, payments of dues of various petroleum outlets lying with the state government, application of first point taxation on lubricants, adequate protection to the retail outlets and exemption from filing VAT returns.
He said the petrol pump owners would stop uplifting the petroleum products from June one if their demands were not fulfilled.
