Jindal Steel Q4 net up 34.58 pc, 240 pc dividend
New Delhi, May 21: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd today posted 34.58 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 202.77 crore for the quarter ended March 2007 against Rs 150.66 crore over the same period last fiscal.
Its total income has increased by 57.83 per cent to Rs 1,074.05 crore for the said quater from Rs 680.48 crore for the same quarter previous year.
The company registered a 22.69 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 702.99 crore for the year ended March, 2007, as compared to Rs 572.94 crore for the year ended March 2006.
While, total income increased by 35.56 per cent to Rs 3,548.78 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 against Rs 2,617.76 crore in the previous year.
The Board of Directors also recommended a final dividend of 240 per cent that is Rs 12 per equity share of Rs 5 each on equity shares, a statement said.
However, the company said its plate mill with an installed capacity of one million tonne has been successfully commissioned in April this year.
