Jaipur Royals join chorus of reservation to Rajputs

Jaipur, May 21 (UNI) Jaipur Royals hitherto maintaining silence over extending reservation to the Rajput community are also now demanding it.

Addressing a joint press conference the erstwhile Royals Maharaja Bhawani Singh and Maharani Padmini Devi said we are also with the community on the issue of demand for reservation to Rajputs.

" Affirmative action in the form of reservation is the only option left to bring up the community in the social and economic ladder in the present scenario," she said.

Maharani Padmini Devi said she had already taken up the matter with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. She said the Chief Minister was very positive on the issue and had given an assurance that a positive outcome could be expected shortly.

She said if reservation was not accorded to the community, the community will become backward. " We do not want the poor farmer living in the village becoming poorer," she said.
