Chennai, May 21: InBev, one of the leading beer manufacturer in the world, has picked up 49 per cent stake in a joint venture with RJ Corp.

A company release here today said RJ Corp, the largest beverage manufacturer in the country, held the majority stake with 51 per cent.

Both the companies have entered into a long term joint venture agreement, which will give InBev access to RKJ Group's strong distribution network nationally.

This would be InBev's exclusive vehicle to invest in the promising Indian beer market.

RKJ Group Chairman K Ravi, in the statement said since his group has an established nationwide distribution and manufacturing presence, this will provide a suitable launch platform for InBev to foray into the Indian market with their products.

"We are confident that the synergies of RJ Corp presence across the country and InBev's expertise in the beer segment will prove to be a win-win situation for both companies," he added.
