New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) Various Muslim organisations staged a massive demonstration here today to protest against increasing attacks on Muslims by the Bajrang Dal and VHP under the alleged patronage of the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh Government.

During the demonstration organised under the auspices of the All India Meo Vikas Parishad, many religious priests and key leaders of the minority community threw light on the alleged atrocities being commited on Muslims by the Sangh Pariwar and demanded action against the guilty and payment of compensation of Rs five lakh to each aggrieved.

According to a release issued here by the organisation, Convenor of the demonstration Chaudhary Mohammad Salim alleged at the meeting that in several Muslim-dominated districts of Madhya Pradesh, Muslims had been harassed and riots triggered off allegedly by the Madhya Pradesh Government. False cases had been registered against innocent Muslims and they had been lodged in jails.

He also alleged that inspite of Muslims being injured in the attacks, no action was being taken against the goons of the RSS.

Mr Salim warned that if the the attackers continued to enjoy the patronage of the Madhya Pradesh Government, grave consequences would follow and the BJP Government in the state would be fully responsible for it. He added by saying that as many as 112 communal riots had so far been organised to target Muslims in MP and a list about it had been submitted to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding an inquiry into it by the CBI.
