Guilty will not be spared: YSR
Hyderabad, May 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today assured the United Muslim Action Committee (UMAC) the people behind the Mecca Masjid blast would not be spared.
Speaking to a UMAC delegation which submitted a memorandum to him demanding CBI inquiry into the blast and the Chief Minister assured them that the government was ready for a CBI enquiry but only after the preliminary inquiry by the state government was completed.
He said stern and suitable action would be taken against the guilty and no guilty would be spared. However a prima facie case against the guilty should be established.
Dr Reddy said he had already made the announcement saying the government was ready for a CBI inquiry, at the Mecca Masjid itself.
He reiterated ex-gratia on par with the blast victims would be paid to the kith and kin of the victims of police firing. The Chief Minister said all those who was injured in the blast and firing could be treated at any hospital, including corporate hospitals, at government expenditure. They would also be paid Rs 20,000 as ex-gratia.
The delegation demanded supenson of the police officers who ordered or took part in the firing after the blast and an inquiry to find out who were the police officers who fed some TV channels with stories of Lashkar or Jaish or Huji involvement and Hyderabad being a ''refuge and breeding place of terrorists.'' The delegation also demanded ex-gratia on par to be sanctioned to the next of the kin of those who lost their lives in the police firing and also to the injured.
