AP: Fire in pvt oil godown; 5,000 litres of oil gutted

Vijayawada, May 21: About 5,000 litres of engine oil, hydraulic oil and grease were gutted in a major fire which broke out in a private godown at Bharat Nagar here today.

Krishna District Fire Officer D Murali Mohan told UNI that five fire tenders were pressed into service after the fire broke out at 0800 hrs. Fire fighting personnel brought the flames under control within an hour by using protein foam along with water.

Electrical short circuit was stated to have caused the fire, he said, adding that there was no casualty.

The loss in the mishap was being ascertained.
