Dozens were arrested in connection with arson in Dungarpur

Jaipur, May 21 (UNI) Tweleve dozen people have been taken into custody in connection with torching of police check post and government vehicles in Kuan Police chauki under Chitri police station in Dungarpur district.

Meanwhile, Udaipur Divisional Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh and Inspector General of Police Rajiv Dasoth today visited the site and reviewed the situation there.

About two dozen personnel have been injured as irate tribals stoned the police chauki and set afire four government vechiles yesterday.

The people were protesting against inability of the police in solving the murder mystery of a teenage girl Pushpa happened about a month ago.

The injured personnel were being treated at Sagwara and three serious cases have been referred to Maharana Bhupal Hospital in Udaipur. No untoward incident was reported today. The situation there is said to be tense but in under control.
