Cong remembers Rajiv Gandhi on 16th death ann
Jamshedpur, May 21: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee today paid floral tribute to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi to mark his 16th death anniversary.
JPCC general secretary Rajesh Kumar Shukla and others including from Kolhan commissionary garlanded the life size photo of Gandhi and observed two minutes silence at Gokulnagar here.
Mr Shukla said Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of today's IT revolution as he dreamt India to lead the world in IT and telecommunication in the 21 st century.
He also called upon the youth to work selflessly to uplift the weaker section of the society and fulfil the dream of the late leader under the guidance of the Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Mr Shukla also distributed fruits and sweets among the patients of MGM hospital here.
The East Singhbhum district Congress Committee, led by its president Ravindra Kumar Jha also observed the day paying tribute to the departed leader at Rajiv Chowk at Kashidih and Kharangajhar areas.
The Youth Town Congress also organised a blood donation camp to observe the day.
