BJP day dreaming on its prospects in Ullal bypoll: Kharge

Mangalore, May 21 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party was day dreaming that the electoral winds was in its favour in Ullal assembly seat for which byelection is slated for June two, Karnataka Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said here today.

Addressing the press conference the KPCC President, who is camping in the city since Saturday to take up party's campaign condemned Deputy Chief Minister B S Yadiyurappa's statement here yesterday that the Congress was day dreaming of winning the seat.

"Ullal remains the bastion of the Congress where we have won six times, as against one each time by the CPI-M and BJP. We still maintain high popularity and work done by late U T Fareed who represented the constituency, will help us romp home," he said.

He said that the party was strongly averse on the way in which the Deputy Chief Minister was distributing the funds to religious institutions according to his whims and fancies.

There were ways to fund for rejuvination or rebuilding of temples and other religious places through endowment department, he said alleging that the BJP was following 'pick and chose' policy to implement its hidden agenda.
