Bali accuses BJP of threatening government officials
Una, May 21 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Transport and Tourism Minister G S Bali today accused a senior state BJP leader of threatening state government officials with dire consequences after the party returns to power in the next assembly elections.
Declining to name the leader, he said at a press conference here, that it was related to Santoshgarh assembly constituency where former PWD minister Mohinder Singh was the BJP's incharge for the Lok Sabha by-polls.
Mr Bali, who was campaigning for the Congress candidate for the Hamirpur Parliamentary by-elections here today, countered the BJP's charge that the government was violating the model code of conduct.
The moral code of conduct does not mean that ongoing developmental works would be stopped, he said.
He said issuing threats to government employees was an offence and an attack on democracy and added that the BJP leaders were acting in frustration and trying to disrupt developmental activities in the parliamentary constituency.
The minister called upon the BJP to honour democratic norms and principles.
