Tirumala witness heavy rush of pilgrims
Tirumala, May 20 (UNI) In view of summer holidays and weekends, Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala is witnessing heavy rush of pilgrims since last night.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) authorities had also cancelled issuance of Cellar tickets based on recommendations.
A TTD official today said that to avoid inconvenience to the pilgrims, the Devastanam had introduced Mahalagu Darshan (Distance Darshan) for all ticket holders.
A large number of pilgrims had to take shelter on pavements, footpaths and under trees due to shortage of accommodation.
The pilgrims were however, assured by the authorities concerned that free accommodation would be available to them at Public Amenities Complex (PAC).
