Tirumala temple hundi collection crosses Rs 5.5 crore

Tirumala, May 20 (UNI) The hundi collection at Tirumala temple has crossed Rs 5.5 crore during the last five days and heavy rush of pilgrims at the temple is expected to continue tommorrow.

Meanwhile, vigilance officials here today said last night they nabbed one Ranjit Kumar Reddy, hailing from Kazipet in Warangal district while he was stealing money donated by pilgrims, from a mobile steel hundi inside the temple.

Later, the accused was handed over to crime police station and sent to remand.

This was the second incident in less than three-days, officials added.
