PDP demands survey of losses due to storm in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 20 (UNI) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a key ruling alliance partner in Jammu and Kashmir, had asked the state government to conduct a detailed survey of the damages caused to properties and various crops, especially cherry and apple, by the storm on Friday.
In a statement here, PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president Mehbooba Mufti have expressed shock and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and huge damages to the property and crops due to the thunderstorm.
After the floods last year, they said the storm has caused extensive damages and the state government must come to the rescue of the affected.
The PDP leaders have also urged the central government to release special grant from the Natural Calamities Fund to the state so that the affected families were provided adequate relief.
