Minor disputes causing crime not good for State: R R Patil
Sangli, Maharashtra, May 20 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief minister R R Patil today said minor incidents that led to crime and murder were not good for society, people and the State.
Speaking at the Business Express Shree Foundation awards distribution function, he said while continuous flow of foreign investment in various sections including State Information Technology development network was good, incidents of murders over minor issues have also risen and this is not good.
The State government has plans to curb this tendency for the betterment of people of the State, he said, adding that the administration intends to launch 'dispute-free villages' on a priority basis to settle minor disputes with proper steps in order to avoid criminal incidents.
He urged people to co-operate in its efforts to make villages dispute-free.
Noted government pleader Ujwal Nikam and Marathi actress Mrinal Dev-Kulkarni were honoured with the foundation awards.
The function was presided over by Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Hemant Rathi.
