Maya warns BLP MLAs not to play with law and order

Lucknow, May 20 (UNI) Reacting sharply to the reports of BSP MLAs brandishing weapons at 'Vijay Rally', Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today warned that those playing with law and order would not be spared.

''No one has got the liberty to play with law and order. Anyone found guilty would be punished,'' She said at an emergency meeting, specially called after reports of BSP men indulding in violence in Hardoi, Bulandshahr and Meerut districts.

''I think this warning is enough as I do not want to see such acts in future again,'' the CM cautioned.

''Maintaining law and order is my priority and I do not want to see my MLAs indulding in violance,'' she added.

However, the BSP chief clarified that those who displayed weapons and opened fire in 'Vijay Rally' were not BSP men.

Two Samajwadi Party (SP) supporters were allegedly shot dead by some BSP workers Amit Singh, Shiv Shankar and Munna Singh, following an heated exchange of words in Sultanpur today.

The deceased identified as Krishan Kumar Singh and Harphool Singh were supporters of SP MLA Chandrabhadra Singh of Isauli district.

Later, six people, including two doctors, were wounded in a scuffle between doctors and family members of a deceased former BSP counsellor Mehtab, who died of snake bite at Badaun district hospital yesterday.

Blaming hospital authorities for poor treatment, Mehtab's family members along with BSP MLA Muslim Khan's supporters exchanged hands with employees, wounding Dr K Verma and Dr G B Lal.
