Govt to fix ISI branded motors for agri pumpsets
Hyderabad, May 20 (UNI) In an attempt to save power and solve the low voltage problem, the Andhra Pradesh Government decided to fix ISI-marked motors for all agricultural pumpsets at subsidised rates.
As part of the programme, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to prepare a pilot project and implement it in a fixed timeframe.
He said the scheme would cost the exchequer Rs 3,600 crore, 80 per cent of which would be borne by the State Government.
Officials informed Dr Reddy that if ISI motors were fixed to all pumpsets, there would be a saving of up to 15 to 20 per cent in power consumption, which in terms of money would be around Rs 800 crore.
