Chandigarh admn asks for details of tenants

Chandigarh, May 19 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration has asked the people to furnish particulars of tenants to the concerned Police Station House Officer before renting out any accommodation to any person.

An order in this regard was issued by the District Magistrate R K Rao under Section 144 of the CRPC here today.

As per the order all the persons who intend to offer accommodation on rent, should inform in writing the particulars of the tenants to the concerned Station House Officer in whose jurisdiction the premises fall.

This step has been taken to check that no harm is caused to the citizens by anti-social elements in the guise of ordinary tenants. This order will be effective for a period of 60 days starting from today to July 17.
