158 cases settled in Lok Adalats in Haryana

Chandigarh, May 20 (UNI) As many as 158 cases were settled in the Lok Adalats which were held at Kurukshetra, Fatehabad and special Lok Adalat for the settlement of cases under section 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act and Petty Criminal Cases at Yamunanagar.

While giving this information, Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority disclosed that out of total 27 cases were pertaining to death, injury, arising out of vehicle accident under MACT Cases were settled and a sum of Rs 37.49 lakh was awarded as compensation.

He said that similarly, 131 cases pertaining to other categories included civil petty, criminal, bank loan cases at the pre-litigative stage as well as the pending were also settled during these Lok Adalats.
