Vijayawada, May 19 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Vyavasaya Karimika Sangham (APVKS), an agricultural labour wing of CPI today announced that it would take up the ''bhooporatam'' (land struggle) with poor people and agriculture labourers from June one.

Addressing a press conference here, APVKS General Secretary J Wilson said the ''bhooporatam'' would be held in 200 centres across the state.

He demanded that the State Government should immediately implement the Koneru Ranga Rao Committee recommendations on land reforms.

The APVKS in its three-day conference, held from May 16 had adopted 42 resolutions.

Alleging that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had not implemented the election promises like distribution of lands to the poor Mr Wilson warned that the poor people would occupy the government lands if the government failed to change its policy.

The government should reclaim the assigned lands from the influential people and distribute to the poor, he said.
