SHO, advocate beaten up by undertrail at High Court Jammu
Jammu, May 19 (UNI) A Station House Officer (SHO) and an advocate were seriously injured in a scuffle between an undertrial and advocates at Jammu and Kashmir High Court complex, Janipur this morning, police sources said.
SHO Janipur police station, inspector Zahid Ahmed Khan, suffered serious injures when he tried to prevent an undertrial who started beating up his advocate Mohammad Aslam Bhat after the court dismissed his bail plea, SP (North Jammu) Sanjay Kotwal told UNI.
Meanwhile, other advocates also joined in and started thrashing the undertrial.
The SHO tried to prevent them from fighting but suffered serious injuries on vital parts of the body, the SP said.
Both the inspector and the advocate were hospitalised at the GMCH Jammu, he added.
The undertrail was sent in judicial custody, he said.
