Shanta shocked over inclusion of bogus voters for SMC

Shimla, May 19 (UNI) Former union minister Shanta Kumar today expressed shock over the inclusion of a large number of bogus voters for Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections and demanded their deletion and action against the officials responsible for registering them.

''It is strange that in many wards a large number of voters have been included in the voters list without identifying the house numbers while the name of the locality had been given in address column,'' he said while talking to reporters here.

Mr Kumar asked the BJP workers to remain vigilant and ensure that no such bogus votes was allowed to be polled, unless the identity of the voter was established.

It was shocking that the administration did not take any action on repeated complaints made by the BJP leaders and suspected connivance of Congress party and government in this act, he added.
