Srinagar, May 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir High Court has issued notices to Centre, Chief of the Army Staff, GOC 15 corps and other respondents in connection with a petition filed by a girl that her mother was allegedly sexually exploited by an army colonel in north Kashmir.
The petitioner Shahida Parveen through her counsels Mian Abdul Qayoom and Zafar Ahmad Qureshi alleged that Colonel Jamwal of Punjab Infantry subjected her family to untold misery after employing her mother under the ''Operation Sadhbavana (OS)''.
She in her petition said that she was approaching the court after failing to get any justice from civil administration police and the local politicians.
Shahida said that her mother was employed under OS of the army after her name was recommended by village elders, since she was the only educated lady in the village Budawab in Gurez tehsil of Bandipora district.
The petition said that till November, 2005 she alongwith others was regularly attending their duties without experiencing any immoral act from any soldier.
She said there was a heavy snowfall in the area and the members of Sadhbavana committee stopped visiting office. However, Colonel Jamwal the Commanding Officer of 20 Punjab Infantry send troops to her house with the direction to report in office immediately.
Shahida said since then the officer started exploiting her mother and threatened her that if she will reveal this to anyone, her family members, including her husband, will be implicated in false militancy cases.
