K'taka: Tiger skin worth Rs 3.5 lakhs seized
Mysore, May 18: The forest vigilance squad has seized a tiger skin, worth Rs 3.5 lakh, and arrested a person in this connection in the city.
According to forest officials yesterday, based on a tip-off, the squad arrested Muthaiah of Kollegal while he was waiting for a customer to sell the tiger skin, packed in a gunny bag.
On interrogation, Muthaiah claimed that the tiger skin was given to him by a person from Tamil Nadu, who offered to pay half of the money if he sold it.
It may be recalled that leopard skins, worth Rs 2.5 lakhs, were seized from a person here recently.
