SP activists clash with police; FIR lodged

Hardoi, May 18 (UNI) An FIR has been lodged against Samajwadi Party activists for clashing with the police in Shahabad area here.

Police today said SP district panchayat member Sartaj Khan led a demonstration against the municipal authorities, when and tried to demolish an illegal construction owned by Munne Khan.

The SP activists alleged that the municipal authorities were politically motivated.

The demonstration turned violent and the party activists clashed with the police.

An FIR was later lodged against 10 persons and hundreds of unidentifed demostrators for attempt to murder and obstructing government work.
