Soldier dies after falling in Kashmir canal

Srinagar, May 18 (UNI) A soldier died after he slipped and fell into a canal in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir today, police said.

They said Manoj Kumar Jaker of 5 Rashtriya Rifles was returning from an operation duty at Urpash in Ganderbal district when he slipped and fell into the canal.

He died on the spot. The police later recovered the soldier's body and his weapon from the spot.
