Sikhs burn Dera chief's effigy in Alwar

Alwar, May 18 (UNI) Sikhs in Alwar today took out a protest march against the Dera Sacha Sauda sect and its followers and burnt the effigy of its chief Gurmet Ram Rahim Singh alias Premiji .

Demanding the immediate arrest of Premiji and strict action against him for posing as 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, hundreds of Sikhs under the banner of Gurmat Prachar Committee took out a protest march till Bhagat Singh Chowk and burnt Premiji's effigy there.

Gurmat Prachar Committee's Harjit Singh said Sikhs condemn the blasphemous act of Premiji.

The police was alerted on getting information about the march and posted itself on the route of the march, ensuring that it passed off peacefully.
