Royal Enfield unveils new 'Machismo 500'

Chennai, May 18 (UNI) The Royal Enfield Limited here today unveiled the new 'Machismo 500,' ushering in a regenerated version of the Bullet family in classic Machismo styling with a foxy combination of robust technology and higher torque, a full-bodied look and comfort styling.

Addressing a press conference, Company Director Anupam Thareja claimed knowing fully well no other motorcycle manufacturer can stake claim to a worthier product combination, each owner of the Machismo 500 will belong to a privileged club since only 500 units of this bike would be produced year-on-year.

Gritty and sharp on the urban street and precision-perfect on the country road, the Machismo 500 was a classically designed ultramodern bike with a digital TCI ignition for powerful spark, a flawless chrome fuel tank, a five-speed gear box engineered for left-foot gear shifting and a powerful 14Ah battery, handling one amongst the Bullet family could never be easier, he added.

More than motorcycles we are into 'motorcycling' and 'biking' than just producing bikes. This Machismo 500 with our global engine platform aims to provide the urban youth with a motorcycling experience that goes far beyond what the regular mass market commuter bikes could offer.

With 40.85 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm, the 500cc lean burn engine provides for tractor-like pulling power and was the most powerful Bullet to date, he claimed.

While its unique 19-inch wheels glide on the Indian roads, the 280 mm front disc brake enhances safety, he claimed.

This was the same engine chassis configuration that Royal Enfield had earlier been exporting to Europe, USA, and Australia where they had been seeing a constant increase in demand.

The bike would be available only at select dealerships across India, the Bullet Machismo 500 would be sold at a moderate price tag of Rs 1.05 lakh (on road in Chennai).
