Royal Enfield launches new 500cc cruiser bike

Mumbai, May 18 (UNI) Royal Enfield Ltd, the motorcycling czar of India, today launched the new series of its cruiser bike 'Machismo 500', crossing the price range of Rs one lakh.

With a foxy combination of robust technology, higher torque, a full-bodied look and comfort styling, Royal Enfield has once again played-up on its traditional formula of symphonising performance and style.

Royal Enfield director Anupam Thareja said ''More than motorcycles we are into 'motorcycling', that is into 'biking' than just producing bikes. The Machismo 500 with our global engine platform aims to provide the urban youth with a motorcycling experience that goes far beyond what the regular mass market commuter bikes can offer.'' With 40.85 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm, the 500cc lean burn engine provides for tractor-like pulling power and is the most powerful bullet to date.

To add to this, Mr Thareja said ''This is the same engine chassis configuration that Royal Enfield has earlier been exporting to Europe, USA and Australia, where we have been seeing a constant increase in demand.'' Available only at select dealerships and Royal Enfield brand stores across India, the new bullet will be a steal at the price-tag of Rs 1.05 lakh (on road in Chennai).
