UP: Peacock feathers seized, 4 smugglers held
Lucknow, May 18: Four wildlife smugglers were arrested and a large quantity of peacock feathers seized from their possession in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh.
On a tip-off, a joint team of police and forest officials raided a house in Nai-Ki-Mandi area late on Wednesday night and seized about 20,000 peacock feathers estimated at several lakhs of rupees.
The accused were identified as Sugreev, Sonu, Sarman and Om Prakash.
A case had been registered and the accused sent to jail, police yesterday said.
