Ordnance Factory employees observe fast

Tiruchirapalli, May 18 (UNI) A section of employees of the Ordnance Factory, Tiruchirapalli (OFT) affiliated to the OFT Employees Union (OFTEU) observed a "Dawn to Dawn" fast to highlight their 14 point charter of demands.

The agitators, led by OFTEU President P Alageswaran were demanding among other things, filling up of vacancies in the OFT to stop outsourcing of defence procurements and development of OFT hospital.

The fast which began at 0730 hrs this morning would be completed at 0730 hrs tomorrow. The employees also decided to conduct strike ballot tomorrow.
