Nursing home in Bhilwara accused of organ trade
Bhilwara, May 17 (UNI) A nursing home in Bhilwara district was charged with removing a kidney of a patient who had come for the treatment of kidney stone.
The police is investigating the case from the angle of organ trade.
Victim Pandit Magan Singh Rajput in a complaint at Devli Munisif court said, the doctors of Mahesh Nursing Home at Jahagpur instead of treating the stone problem removed one of his kidney of which he came to know only after 11 months.
Mr Rajput said, he had undergone an operation at the said nursing home on April 16, 2006 as part of the treatment of kidney stone.
But again on stomach pain after 11 months of operation he approached another doctor in Bundi and on sonography it was found that one of the kidneys was missing upon which he filed a complaint in the court.
But the director of Mahesh Nursing Home Dr Mahesh Jindal said, the treatment was done with the permission of the patient and the kidney was removed as it was found cancerous. He said the kidney and sample were still in the lab.
