Nikkei up 0.4 pct as Canon, exporters rise on yen
TOKYO, May 18 (Reuters) The Nikkei share average rose 0.37 percent on Friday with exporters such as Canon Inc. climbing following a slight gain in Chicago futures and a softer yen.
The Nikkei was up 64.93 points at 17,563.53 as of 0001 GMT.
The broad TOPIX index added 0.24 percent to 1,711.31.
